Hi Everyone.  Here's what's happening:

 

OPENING WEEKEND RECAP

Thanks to all those who showed up despite the dreary weather.  We fought through the wind and rain as we bowled and enjoyed our Potluck.  Sunday brought us better weather conditions.

LEAGUE PLAY KICKS OFF

League Play participants have now received their match schedules and will soon be on the green competing to dethrone Mark Ragen, our 2021 champion.  Come to the green and root on all our players.

 

ARE YOU A NOVICE BOWLER?

Practice makes perfect. Novice Bowling takes place each Tuesday starting at 5:30PM, weather permitting.    Have fun while you learn the nuances of the game and refine your skills with tips from experienced players.

 

WANT SOME COACHING?

Schedule in some bowling tips from Joe & Ryan, our club coaches.

Sign-up now to join Ryan and Joe on the green this Sunday, May 16 at 12pm and stay for the Club Game.

Coaching lessons are also available by appointment at mutually convenient times. Request a lesson.

GET DISCOVERED… TOMORROW

On Thursday May 13, Ryan Field, Sports Anchor on WABC-TV's Eyewitness News Weeknight and Saturday Morning Newscasts, brings his film crew to the green to tape a segment on our club. We invite you to get in on the action and show NYC how much fun bowling can be.  Arrive by 11:30. Filming should begin at noon.  Sign-up.

 

This Saturday, 5/15 Primavera Pairs (out-of-the-hat pairing)

Sign-up to play in our season’s first tournament. We now have 10 players and are looking for 2 more to even-up the teams.   Arrive by 8:30am and expect to bowl through the early afternoon.   Sign-up.

* For potlucks, we urge that each participant act in a COVID-conscience manner, practicing cleanliness and maintaining social distance while obtaining and consuming food and beverages and while socializing.

 

TOURNAMENTS

NED:  Weekend 6/12-13: Hall of Fame Triples @ Central Park NYLBC:  Saturday 6/19: George Reid Pairs ($10 entry, 9am start)

 

WEEKEND CLUB GAMES

Saturday 1PM* & Sunday 1:30PM Club Games

*Note:  The Saturday May 22nd Club Game will start at 10AM. 

For Club Games, whites or club polos are recommended and flat shoes required.  All experience levels welcomed.

ANYTIME

Bowl anytime on your own, with your friends or with new friends.  Dress casually and flat-soled shoes required.

Your health and welfare are our top priority.  Please review and observe our updated COVID-19 Precautions adopted by the NYLBC in compliance with the NYS Sports and Recreation Guidelines.

 

KEEP SAFE

For your safety, should you ever need to call 911 and give directions to emergency responders on how to get to the Green, provide these directions:

Our Green is located in the Mineral Springs area of Central Park:  at 69th St inside the Park.

Access from the west: Enter the Park at  West 72nd St.  At bottom of ramp at stoplight/crosswalk, turn left following crosswalk onto pedestrian path towards center of the Park (Cobra Pole #7002). Proceed on path and Mineral Springs Lawn Sports clubhouse building will be on your right.  

Access from the east: Enter the Park at E 72nd. Proceed west through intersection with East Drive. Pass Bethesda Terrace and then Cherry Hill on right. At intersection with West Drive, bear left/south onto West Drive.  At the next traffic signal take a left onto Park pedestrian path (Cobra Pole #7002). Take pedestrian path towards center of the Park. Proceed on path and Mineral Springs Lawn Sports clubhouse building will be on your right.  

Note: If CPC personnel are on site and have been notified of the 911 call, they will radio out to our field staff to be on the lookout for emergency responders to give them directions.
